What Semory collects
Semory captures data from three channels your sales team already uses:
- Phone calls — recorded, transcribed, and analyzed when a rep uses Semory's calling feature.
- WhatsApp conversations — messages from connected WhatsApp accounts are ingested and analyzed.
- Google Meet calls — recorded via the Argus browser extension when a rep clicks Start. Tab audio and microphone audio (if granted) are captured.
- Google Calendar — upcoming events are read to surface meetings, link them to customers, and prepare briefs before calls.
- Gmail — messages with your customers are read to track conversations and draft follow-up replies for you to review and send.
We also store the customer profiles, follow-ups, tasks, and intelligence that Semory extracts from these conversations.
Argus Chrome Extension
Argus records the Google Meet tab you are on. It captures:
- Tab audio and video (everyone else on the call).
- Your microphone audio (only if you grant permission).
- Meeting metadata: attendees, meeting code, timestamps.
Recordings are stored locally in your browser until you file them against a lead. When filed, audio and video are uploaded to your organization's Semory account via Cloudflare R2 storage. Recordings are never sent anywhere else.
Argus reads your existing Semory session cookie to authenticate. It never stores, transmits, or has access to your password.
Argus does not collect analytics, telemetry, browsing history, or any data outside of Google Meet tabs.
Where data is stored
All data is stored in Semory's infrastructure: MongoDB for structured data, Cloudflare R2 for audio and video files. Data stays within your organization's account and is not shared across accounts.
Third-party processing
Recordings may be processed by:
- Deepgram — for transcription.
- Google Gemini — for meeting summarization (Argus).
- OpenAI — for conversation analysis and intelligence extraction (Oracle).
No data is sold to or shared with advertisers.
Google user data
When you sign in with Google and grant access, Semory reads your Google Calendar events and your Gmail messages. Calendar data is used to surface upcoming meetings, link them to customer records, and prepare briefs. Gmail data is used to track customer conversations and draft follow-up replies you review before sending.
Semory uses this data only to provide and improve these user-facing features. It is never sold, never used for advertising, and never transferred to third parties except the processors listed above, and only to deliver the features you asked for. No human at Semory reads your Google data except with your explicit consent, to resolve a support issue you reported, or where required by law.
You can revoke Semory's access at any time from your Google account permissions. Revoking access stops all further reads; data already stored is removed on request to the contact below.
Semory's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Recording consent
You are responsible for informing all call and meeting participants that the conversation is being recorded, in accordance with applicable laws. Semory and Argus show indicators while recording, but these are visible only to the rep.
Data retention
Conversation data and recordings are retained for as long as your organization's Semory account is active. You can delete individual recordings and customer profiles at any time from the Semory dashboard.
